Are you a good mum?

If you’ve ever wondered this, then yes, you are a good mum.

If you’ve ever felt guilty for not talking to them, not listening to them or not playing with them. If you’ve ever felt terrible for going out and missing bedtime (twice in one week), for shouting at them to get their shoes on, for telling them – ‘Not now Mummy is busy’, for working late… again, then yes, you are a good mum.

If you feel bad because you’ve reached for the freezer tapas this evening – instead of cooking from scratch – then yes, you are a good mum.

If you’re constantly wondering how you could do it better, then yes, you are a good mum.

If you’re always doubting whether you are really doing your best, then yes, you are a good mum.

Good mums feel guilty. Good mums always strive to be better. Good mums worry. Good mums are self-critical. Good mums don’t ever think they are good enough.

So how can you be a good mum?

Chill out my lovely. You already are.
